Sustainable Artisanal Mining (SAM) Project by Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC) wishes to solicit proposals from national institutions, NGOs and companies to provide “Facilitation in conflict resolution and consensus building in ASM mineral resource use” for small scale mining communities, NGOs, private mining companies and local government in Zaamar, Bornuur soums (Tuv aimag), Airag soum (Dornogovi aimag) in order to engage in dialogue and find solutions of common interests with regard to ASM mining related conflict issues and mining land access.

The main objective of the service is to conduct local conflict scoping exercise to identify the problem(s), and facilitate in negotiation, relationship building and conflict resolution amongst artisanal miners, private mining companies and local government with regards to  artisanal mining issues especially access to mining land and right to work as miners.  

The following minimum qualifications are expected for carrying-out the services:

1. Any entity duly incorporated under the laws of Mongolia
2. Possess minimum of two years experience (at least 3 cases) in the conflict resolution through dialogue, relationship building, negotiation and consensus of the diiferent parties related to natural resource use.
3. Possess working experience with community-based/grassroots organizations, local government and mining companies; and rich knowledge of local dynamics and contexts. Previous working experience with artisanal and small scale miners is an asset.
