Community development team of SAM project organized an experience sharing workshop  on NGO Governance for the project local facilitators and NGO Executive Committee members from four project sites in Bayankhongor aimag on 12-15 February, 2009. This was first experience sharing meeting for local facilatators and NGO representatives.  Agenda included general concept on NGO governance,  experience sharing dialogues and keeping financial records and discussion of some urgent matters e.g. management and potential use of bath house and tractors. This workshop report contains the preliminary concepts on miners’ community managed processing plant establishment and management process in Mandal soum, Zuunkhara for miners’ organization ‘Duush Mandal Khairhan Kholboo’ (DMKK). The concept was framed from the interactive method during the workshop. 

This report is prepared in two parts. The first part contains the main text about the process and outputs. The second part contains detail of the workshop proceeding in annex. The main text briefs on Background, Objectives, Expected Outputs, Participants, Duration and venue, Management, Content and Activities, Achievements and the Conclusion. The Annex part contains Workshop schedule, Expectation, Accomplished activities, Context assessment, Plan formulation process, Objective setting, Ownership model, Immediate action plan, Record keeping assessment, Record keeping formats and participants’ list.

The original report has produced in English version coding STR -01/09 that stands for ‘Social (Component) Training Report – No. 01 of 2009’. A summary report in local language will be provided to the DMKK, the local partner.

It is expected that this report will be useful to the project for understanding present status and on that base, to develop future supporting plan for processing plant establishment and management by artisanal miners’ in the pilot site.
