Mongolian Glossary

Aimag - Mongolia is divided administratively into 21 aimags (provinces) and the Capital city Ulaanbaatar
Soum - Aimags are divided into soums
Bagh - soums are divided into baghs, the least administrative unit
Ger - A Mongolian round traditional dwelling, made of felt and wood.
Dzud - A Mongolian climatic phenomenon - drought in summer followed by heavy snow in winter cause serious losses of livestock

The second experience sharing workshop was organized in Tunkhel area of Mandald soum. Totally 25 participants from all sites were participated. The bi-monthly experience sharing meeting was planned for 2009 with purpose to review and reform the community mobilization process through learning cycle. First workshop was conducted in February in Bayankhongor aimag which has developed sharing method, governance assessment and planning method. This second meeting was focussed for long term visioning and media advocacy. The general objective of workshop was to review 2009 first four month activities, exchange learning and to develop a long term vision of the ASM organization. The specific and immediate objectives were:

  • Review of the first sharing meeting
  • Long term visioning
  • Familiarization and capacity building of the leaders
  • Media advocacy

For the above objectives, review, milestone setting, cross-site learning exchange, open discussion/question-answer, media interview, broadcasting and publication activities were done. Please download its detailed report.
